Explore our available methods for biodegradability testing
With our wide range of testing solutions, we are able to determine the biodegradability, compostability, or ecotoxicity of your products and materials. We can do this at any stage in your project, allowing you to determine the best materials to use or get the documented testing you need to label your products as biodegradable.
How Our Biodegradability Testing Works
Biodegradability tests typically contain a blank control group, a reference group, and a test group. The blank control group contains only inoculum and mineral medium and is used to check the CO2 formation or oxygen consumption of the inoculum itself. On the other hand, the reference group contains a material that is known to be biodegradable, such as sodium benzoate, sodium acetate, aniline, or cellulose in some tests which is used to confirm that the system is working properly.
